Elmery is seeking for a motivated Electrochemical Metallurgist

In this role you will be at the forefront of cutting-edge development and implementation of electrochemical solutions, contributing to the scalability and sustainability of metal recovery on a global scale. As a key member of our team, you’ll manage customer projects, electrochemical experiments, from sample preparation and solution characterization to data analysis and reporting

The daily work will take place at Elmery’s laboratory, located in Otaniemi, Espoo, Finland. You’ll also have opportunities to travel internationally, working closely with our global clients

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute customer projects, ensuring clear communication with clients
• Design and perform electrochemical experiments with consideration of the safety aspects.
• Sample preparation and characterization of the processed solutions, data analysis and management, alongside the preparation of presentations
• Additional responsibilities may arise based on your interests and performance

We expect you to have

• Strong background in electrochemistry; additional knowledge in inorganic chemistry is a plus
• Practical experience with electrochemical deposition and characterization techniques.
• Hands on experience with elemental characterization techniques for solutions (ICP/AAS/etc.) and solids (SEM-EDX/XR(F/D)/etc.)
• Problem-solving abilities, both technical and practical
• Passion for innovation
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Fluent English skills

Highly advantageous

• Experience in metals processing and refining 
• Experience in hydrometallurgy and/or electrorefining/electrowinning 
• Understanding of the valuable metals industry 
• Strong project management skills 
• Experience with simulation software (e.g., COMSOL Multiphysics®)
