Elmery has been selected as one of the winners in the latest European Innovation Council Accelerator funding round, in the Boosting European Critical Raw Material Chain call.
The EIC Accelerator is one of Europe’s most competitive funding instruments for start-ups and SMEs developing breakthrough technologies with strong commercial potential. In the latest round, The European Innovation Council selected 38 start-ups and SMEs from 87 proposals that reached the interview stage, recognizing companies with transformative technologies and strong commercial promise. In recent EIC Accelerator rounds, only around 6-7% of full proposals have typically been selected for funding, underlining the highly competitive nature of the programme.
For Elmery, the selection is a major step in scaling our pulse-based electrochemical recovery technology from industrial proof toward wider deployment.
The EIC Accelerator support will help us move faster from industrial validation toward broader deployment. It strengthens our ability to run industrial pilots, build scale-up readiness and work with partners who share the same challenge: critical metals are becoming more important, but access to them remains too fragile, too wasteful and too dependent on primary extraction.
Our mission is making critical metals less critical. That mission is not only about technology – it is about resilience. It’s about recovering more value from existing industrial streams, reducing dependency on virgin raw materials and creating cleaner, more predictable routes for metal recovery.
The EIC Accelerator provides funding of up to €7.5 million per project, consisting of €2.5 million in non-repayable grants and up to €5 million in equity. Beyond the funding, selected companies gain access to EIC Business Acceleration Services, connecting them with experts, investors, corporates and innovation ecosystem partners across Europe. In addition to capital, this support also provides us momentum.
It helps us take the next step with customers and partners in sectors where metal recovery is not a nice-to-have, but a strategic necessity. It gives us stronger backing to turn industrial side streams into measurable value. And it supports our long-term ambition: a world where recovery beats extraction.
We are proud to be selected for the EIC Accelerator. For us, this is a strong validation of the problem we are solving and the mission we are pursuing. Making critical metals less critical means building practical routes to recover more of what already exists. The EIC support helps us move faster toward that goal.

Elmery will use the EIC Accelerator support to strengthen its scale-up pathway, accelerate industrial collaboration and continue building a cleaner, more resilient future for critical metal recovery.
